Yes, I’m talking to all you women and especially the teenage girls out there.
I have come a long way from the teen that would only be happy if I could lose 10 lbs. The one who hated her body.
The same girl, who would cover her legs with a towel when in a bikini. I’d lay it on the side of the pool and hop on and off, and immediately return to it. It was my security blanket.
I struggled to like myself… I wasn’t thin enough or pretty enough. And I was always comparing myself to friends and models and I never matched up with my expectations.
Sure I don’t look as good as I did in my 20’s. Cellulite and wrinkles are appearing and my skin is less elastic and dotted with pigmentation.
But what has changed in my 40’s is the way I feel inside. I have finally embraced all of me. All of my imperfections… Cause I am not this body. I am an ENERGY that is connected to all things, including you.
Every day I practice “SELF LOVE”…That doesn’t mean I stand in the mirror and chant and repeat “l love you” a hundred times, till I believe it…It’s not about how I look. It’s about how I treat myself.
Loving yourself means that you shower yourself with kindness and compassion. It’s about eating whole foods that make you feel good and listening to the messages your body is sending you.
It’s essential to nurture your soul and water your mind with positive thoughts. Take time out and meditate when you are stressed. Move your body to keep the blood pumping and lubricate your joints and spine.
You only get one body, so be good to it. Make SELF LOVE a force so strong it takes you over. Now is the time for YOU TO LOVE YOU
You are beautiful and perfect, just the way you are. Don’t waste a single moment judging yourself or comparing yourself to others or trying to fit an image in your head.
You will never be this young or magnificent. Stress, age, and gravity (SAG), are inevitable but how we greet it, is a choice we can make. Meet it with love.
