You may have taken both my parents and so many loved ones from me. But I am here to tell you that you are in for a fight!
Today is World Cancer Day! And I have so many incredible strong people around me that have survived you and have won. If you are not following my amazing friends Allison Solomon and Sara Quiriconi you should be. They are both an inspiration to me every single day. They beat and defeated you with grace, courage and strength.
Cancer, you have taught me many lessons. I have learned time is precious and life is short. You have taught me to be grateful for the blessing of this day. The fact I am alive and breathing is something I no longer take for granted.
Because of you, I make sure that I am only doing the work I love and spending time with people that lift me up and bring out the best in me. I am not afraid to walk away from toxic and negative situations. And I don’t apologize for saying no to things and people that drain me.
And if you are fighting this awful disease, remember that you are stronger than you know. You are in the ring with God and He is there to carry you. He is also in the business of creating miracles. So don’t loose faith. I want you to know that I am always here for you so reach out to me.
And if you know of anyone fighting this brave battle, be there and support them as often as you can. Talk to them. Hold their hand. Tell them how much they mean to you. The greatest gift we can give someone is our time. So show up with some warm soup or a cup of coffee and just sit with them a while. No advice and no opinions.
As the Rebbe so wisely said, “Many times, what people need is NOT a brilliant mind that speaks but a SPECIAL HEART that LISTENS.” …. And if you are cancer…. I am here to tell you F**K off. We will win and destroy you xxx MM
