You Only Get One Body; So Take Care Of It
I battled with body image in my teens and 20’s. I was never obese but I was definitely chunkier than my friends.⠀
⠀
I remember wrapping a towel around me when I wanted to swim. I would lay it on the bricks next to the pool and hop into the water and immediately hop back onto the towel, so no one could see my butt.⠀
⠀
I wore longer jackets to cover my legs and hated jeans. When I auditioned for the high school fashion shows, my friends made the cut, but not me. I felt like the ugly duckling and I desperately wanted to be a swan.⠀
⠀
As I got older I realized I only get one body, so I needed to look after it and love it no matter what. It’s mine and once I started treating it like a temple and loving it, my body started loving me back.⠀
⠀
Granted I put in the effort. I eat well and balance my stress. I head to the grocery store and buy fresh fruits and veggies and cook this along with some lean protein.⠀
⠀
When you eat real food your body responds to it. I guess that is why I believe ABS ARE MADE IN THE KITCHEN. Once you control the ingredients you can control your weight without any crazy fad diets and restrictions.⠀
⠀
Cooking for yourself is a lifestyle and the effects will snowball. You will have more energy and look forward to enjoying a good meal. My teenage self would never have believed that at 45 I would be rocking a bikini.⠀
⠀
And I am telling you that you can too. So get back into your kitchen and start cooking. Check out the recipes section of my website for over 300 free, healthy and delicious recipes. And tag me if you make them.
